The plot introduces us to a psychologist who suggests to three couples that they engage in a group session, where they will have to analyse each other without her being present. In order to do so, she has left them a number of envelopes containing instructions on the things they have to address. The method she has proposed encourages everyone to share their opinions, argue with...。故事发生在文革阴霾刚刚散去不久的一段时期。芭蕾舞演员白鹭（张伟欣饰）为了排演一出新的剧目而来到位于嫩江草原的芦苇荡体验生活。此行她还有另一个目的，那就是寻找失散长达八年之久的独生子。白鹭借住在以养鹤捕鱼为生的贺凤翥（王尚信饰）夫妇家，夫妇当年在文革期间收养了一个男婴小翔，如今小翔（杨通饰）成为夫妇俩难以割舍的慰藉。经过几次接触，白鹭惊讶地发现小翔就是自己的亲生骨肉，可是看到贺家夫妇对待儿子那份无私深情，她最终选择独自离开。 只不过母子的缘分并未就此中止，她们还将在接下来的人生路感受到爱和大自然的呼唤……。
