清朝末年，商人胡雪岩为和洋人争夺市场，导致洋商与官府勾结，众多钱庄纷纷倒闭，胡雪岩也郁郁而亡。时逢宁波三江口贸易初创时期，因周家货运超载导致沉船，损失重大，加之先前其它原因，船东董家与周家从此结下梁子。周汉良因社会时局所困，只能做点口岸走私生意，其母感觉此举不是长久之计，劝儿子做正当生意，在母亲规劝下，周汉良奔赴大都市上海，开始了他真正的商业之路，几年功夫他在上海站稳了脚根。但当时的上海鱼龙混杂，真正兴办民族企业困难重重，哪柱香烧不到也不行。当周汉良要开办水泥制造业时，他不但要面临着洋人的打压，还要抵防着老冤家董芝恒的暗算……。Young people use music to express their new awareness of life and generational opposition to their parents, as well as to protest the social and political climate in East Germany.
