『ドラゴンクエスト ダイの大冒険』の劇場用アニメ作品第1作目。 テレビシリーズに先駆けて、最初に制作されたアニメ版でもある。 原作の読み切り第2作目『ダイ爆発!!!』をアレンジした話であり、本編とは繋がらないパラレル作品になっている。。A sniper returns home from Afghanistan to his small Northern town. Confronted with the mundane reality of everyday life he longs for the release provided by shooting. Slowly his need for regimented military discipline takes over leading to violent confrontation.。
