Their adventures lead them to cross...。上海徐家汇棚户区附近河内发现一具女性白骨，巡捕房老虎探长钟朗和科学家康华生、圣约翰大学实验室女教授于胜男结伴前往现场调查，结果发现该白骨被人通过特殊方法伪造成一具死亡达三年的陈尸。华生通过头骨进行了复原，其中一幅画像竟与不久前离奇失踪的上海沪江饭店女经理杜兰极其相似。杜兰的背后有黑帮头目顺爷支撑，其真实身份叶扑朔迷离。钟朗隐隐觉得杜兰和自己当年从事的工作多有相近之处。该案所牵涉的人员和层面越来越广，警方高层则遽然下达了终止调查的命令。钟朗执拗地展开独立调查，却没想到前方是一个深不见底的黑洞……。
