山田日後承認在開拍此片之前，已心諳渥美清的肺病步入末期，決定此章為最後一章，並安排由淺丘瑠璃子演的莉莉送寅次郎踏上人生的最後一程。分別15年後，兩人於如詩如畫的奄美大島重逢，感情依舊，鬥氣繼續，沒完沒了似的。正如山田所想，雖然系列必須完結，但始終不想為寅次郎的故事／人生劃上句號。結局如常開放，代表寅一直繼續他的旅程，日本人依然有夢。 公映後翌年，渥美清病逝，享年68歲，本片亦成為他的遺作。 Yamada knew before production began that Atsumi's health has deteriorated to such an extent that Tora-san to the Rescue would be the last film in the series. He decided to let Lily accompany Tora on his last trip. The lovers reunite after fifteen years in the picturesque Amami O Shima, and the affections as well as the bickering remain. Atsumi Kiyosh passed away at the age of 68 in the year following the film's release, making this film his last.。光棍汉春生（葛恒瑞 饰）得知中越边境有人介绍“洋媳妇”，携多年积蓄前往。走到云南境内时遇到越南最大家族企业的继承人阮金鹏（翁卡特 饰），他正与秘书阿碧（李宛仪 饰）前往河口地区考察投资项目。由于阮金鹏的母亲是云南瑶族人，此次他是来替母亲还愿的。导游女禾香（宋海梅 饰）一路上为游人介绍着当地风光，春生听的津津有味，恨不能早日娶上越南媳妇，同行的阿碧则对他冷言冷语，颇看不惯春生的举止。到达边城河口，春生进入了找对象的状态，但随着时间流逝，让春生对原先有成见的阿碧产生了兴趣，而阿碧也改变了原有的看法，逐渐对这个热情诚实的小伙子产生了好感......。#常轨脱离Creative# 动画化决定，全12话泡面番，2024年播出。
