The policeman asks for a return favor and the boys oblige, oblivious to the ill fate that...。一个被迫学医的舞者实现她的舞蹈梦。。故事发生在日本的江户时代，在八王子有一间飞脚问屋，这里工作这两个年轻人弁藏（松山研一 饰）和宗次（早乙女太一 饰）。这两个人勤劳率直，而他们的另一个身份竟然是盗贼团伙“赤目一味”的成员。赤目由辰五郎（国村隼 饰）所创立，他带领手下专门从事劫富济贫的义举，加上其本人刚正不阿，因此深得弁藏等人的敬重。辰五郎临去世时，原打算将组织托付给弁藏和宗次，谁知辰五郎的师弟甚三郎（成宫宽贵 饰）坐上了赤目的第一把交椅。由于无法认同甚三郎为了金钱而巧取豪夺的行径，弁藏和宗次与之决裂，踏上了漫漫的旅途。而他们的故事也正是在旅途中渐次发生的…… 本片根据小野夏芽（オノ・ナツメ）的漫画改编。。
