因工作关系钟有诚（梁家辉 饰）需要到大屿山一趟。因台风的关系要在岛内留宿，在这个时候他认识了同样被困的少女慧心（袁咏仪 饰）。二人一见钟情，虽然男的已婚，女的也将会在两个星期后结婚，仍挡不住他们的爱火。有诚跟慧心深知他们是无法摆脱家中的一切相守到老，但又觉得对方的聆听是自己心灵的一种解放，便决定每年的这天都来这个小岛相聚。之后无论天雨天晴他们都会重回旧地共渡良宵。期间他们因为有诚的儿子发生过误会，也共同迎接了慧心腹中的孩子出生。直到第二十一次相聚，有诚告诉慧心他的妻子已决定举家移民，这可能是最后一次的相聚……。SYNOPSIS Urgently called, the police inspector has arrived in a hotel, and didn't find any crime, but noticed some strangenesses occurring there. (Strugatsky Brothers website) NOTES This is a crime / mystery thriller with surreal and psychedelic science fiction overtones based on a book Inspector Glebsky's Puzzle by the Strugatsky brothers. The screenplay was also written by the brothers and it differs from the book. The less you know about the movie the better starting point you have. The film is based largely on the mystery of what's happening to the people of Dead Mountaineer's Hotel. Is everything what it seems? Who's dead or who's not?。
